In Bode comparisons, the Bode SecurSwab collection devices were shown to recover up to 30% more DNA than other products.1 Additionally, the Bode SecurSwab 2 dries completely saturated samples quickly and recovers about 2.5 times more DNA than that of the previous SecurSwab design.2

Bode SecurSwab Line
Yes. Bode SecurSwab products can be utilized to collect any type of DNA sample.
The Bode SecurSwab devices are designed so that the protective tube can serve as a handle. This allows for a more rigorous collection of stains and better sample collection.
Since it does not have to be air dried before packaging, it reduces the potential to introduce contamination. Packaging of wet swabs can also lead to transfer of sample to the container, thus reducing the amount of DNA left on the swab for testing and possible degradation of the DNA. The Bode SecurSwab DUO-V swab system ranked number one for both small- and large-volume DNA recovery in the Swab Collection Study conducted by the National Forensic Science Technology Center and funded through the National Institute of Justice.1
Bode SecurSwab devices include a 100% cotton swab. Due to this property, it is compatible with most extraction and quantification kits. Internal testing has been based on Qiagen extraction methods. Our technical services team can assist clients in optimizing extraction and quantification procedures for SecurSwab Collector samples.
