Profiles are added to these databases on a daily basis. The profiles can regularly be monitored for new links within the databases.
It is important for the investigator/ detectives to have direct contact with the genealogist in several ways.
It is important for the genealogist to know if there is case background to support a particular pathway of investigation. It is also important for the genealogist to ensure that no actions disrupt a sensitive investigation
Additionally, the genealogist may provide the investigators with information during the pathway of research that could quickly accelerate and help an investigation.
When uploading an unknown sample to the public genealogy database(s), anyone matching to those samples may see those results. However, samples can be removed from the databases to protect the investigation, if needed.
