Laser Microdissection
Research and Development - Laser Microdissection Studies
The Research and Development Group at Bode Technology is highly experienced with laser microdissection (LM) instruments and their associated methodology. There are currently two LM instruments available to the research scientists at our facility, the Arcturus PixCell® II and the Zeiss PALM® MicroBeam systems. The research conducted with these instruments has provided a means of physically separating the components of assault mixtures as well as improving the collection and DNA analysis associated with low copy number (LCN) samples.
Further examinations have also shown that the multiple donors of morphologically similar cell mixtures can be visually identified separated using Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) and LM methods. The utilization and optimization of all these techniques have provided an additional tool by which difficult evidence may be processed and interpreted.
