Samples for mtDNA analysis are human hair shafts, skeletal material (bones and teeth), or any biological sample or stain that has failed to yield enough DNA for STR analysis. The higher sensitivity of mtDNA analysis is due to the large number of mtDNA copies in each cell (approximately 100-1000 copies of mtDNA, compared to only two copies of each STR marker). The Bode Technology Group has a number of internationally known mtDNA scientists on staff, with more than 40 years of collective experience in mtDNA analysis. This experience is key to our success, as the quality and accuracy of mtDNA results can be directly attributed to the level of experience of the forensic scientists performing the work. Privacy
