ChoicePoint® Acquires The Bode Technology Group

ALPHARETTA, GA. – May 1, 2001 – ChoicePoint (NYSE: CPS) has acquired The Bode Technology Group, a Virginia-based provider of DNA identification services to state and federal government agencies as well as private industry.

Founded in 1995, Bode is accredited by the National Forensic Science Technology Center. Bode currently supports seven state-mandated felon offender DNA databases and performs criminal DNA casework and advanced research on DNA identification techniques. Bode plans to continue to focus on these fast growing areas, but does not conduct medical genetic testing nor does the company plan to do so in the future.
