Technical Account Manager
Description
This position reports to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Responsibilities include expanding sales of Bode services and products by working with Bode team members to expand and manage sales to existing customers and developing new markets for revenue growth in assigned territory.
There are two market focuses for Technical Account Managers.Territories either focus on forensic crime laboratories and law enforcement agencies or domestic commercial clients with the possibility of working with international commercial clients. Technical Account Manager territories focused on forensic crime lab and law enforcement agencies will also work with Law Enforcement Account experts (LEAEs) who are retired law enforcement persons working part-time with an appropriate law enforcement work history.
Responsibilities
- Meeting or surpassing sales targets each quarter by making sales calls, following up on sales leads, attending trade shows and other selling activities
- Work with client services team to meet current customer expectations
- Establishing and qualifying sales leads with prospective consumers of Bode DNA identification services and products
- Managing the sales process from sales leads to closure of the sale
- Representing Bode Technology in a professional manner
- Develop an understanding of and establish relationships with key decision makers in existing markets
- Provide or coordinate presentations with potential customers and subject matter experts at Bode to effectively improve customer relationships and potential sales
- Collect new customer contact information, lead information, opportunities etc., and enter into the current CRM database and updates to keep CRM current
- Act as liaison with new customer accounts and Bode contract administration staff to insure an efficient, timely contract process
- Attend key industry trade shows, seminars and national meetings targeted for DNA identification
- Monitor and report market highlights including competitor activities

- Mentor individual staff in the pre-deployment preparation process and coordinate medical, travel and program-required training.

- Perform minor troubleshooting and minor repairs to the plumbing and electrical systems to determine the need or requirement of a licensed electrician/plumber.
- Maintain the proper temperatures throughout the facility and inside the laboratory and evidence rooms that are cohesive with lab specimen processing requirements.
- Perform maintenance (assembly and disassembly) to tables, chairs and equipment, including but not limited to white boards, pictures, and various laboratory equipment.
- Maintain minor repairs to the building interior to include: door/lock handle and actuator replacement, light bulb replacement throughout laboratory areas and drywall repair.
- Develop daily task plans to comply with ongoing maintenance upkeep and repairs to the facility.
- Maintain files containing warranty paperwork determining what items should be repaired or replaced by the manufacturer.
- Order, receive and replace required equipment throughout the facility.
- Maintain storage units, including equipment and file inventory and organization for retrieval and/or return to government customers or for sale, reuse, repair and/or disposal.
- Clean, mop, sweep, paint facility areas as required or needed.
- Contact vendors for various repairs, service calls and information to facilities forging a good relationship for future use.

International Development Expert
Description
Reporting to the Vice President of International Development, the International Development Expert will assist in identifying and developing new international projects. This individual will assist in developing and executing strategic plans for the identified opportunities, establish key contacts to gain support and/or funding (both within the United States and in target country), develop and present custom project proposals, assist in negotiations of necessary MoU/contractual agreement and oversee delivery of the agreed upon services. This role will establish strategic partnerships to position Bode well for identified opportunities.
Primary Functions
Major Opportunities: Assist in identifying and developing relationships with key contacts that influence target countries/opportunities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, identifying key contacts for each opportunity, key contact meetings/briefings, requirements definition and documentation, proposal development/circulation and input, and coordination with internal and external technical resources.
Customer proposal, contract, and pricing management: Work with management and the legal department to prepare proposals and MoUs/contracts in response to opportunities as well as SOWs outlining potential project opportunities. Negotiate and define/model pricing for specific opportunities that incorporates margin requirements, competitive pricing levels, and customer value.
Strategic Planning:Assist in researching, planning and implementing strategies for locating and winning international program development and humanitarian opportunities. Many times such opportunities will need to be created by meeting and working with key decision makers.
Market Research: Perform market research and analysis of developing international markets of interest to Bode. Develop educational materials and literature to aid in answering questions about new markets and projects. Assist in drafting papers related to Bode’s projects/successes/ideas
Customer Requirements: Obtain changes in customers’ requirements through direct and indirect customer feedback. These changes will normally be programmatic and not technical support regarding a detailed understanding of forensic DNA testing.
Opportunity Development & Relationship Management: Track and manage opportunities as needed. Assist in maintaining current knowledge of international developments to keep abreast of potential issues impacting opportunities.
Conferences: Attend and/or present at key conferences.

Quality Assurance Coordinator
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Coordinator’s role is to organize, update, maintain, and provide compliance documentation for audit and other related purposes. This individual will be required to maintain familiarity with applicable forensic science and DNA laboratory specific accreditation standards and interpretations, including ASCLD/LAB, ISO 17025, FBI Quality Assurance Standards, and NYS DOH Standards of Practice as well as to assist in accreditation efforts. In addition, this individual must be able to instruct employees about, monitor compliance with, and immediately report instances of non-compliance with the above standards to management.
Specific duties will include maintaining database records, utilizing document management and compliance software, and interacting and coordinating with employees and clients to maintain and supply updated information such as personnel file documentation, training qualifications, proficiency testing records, and testimony evaluations, as required for audits, client site visits, client requests, discovery requests, and proposal responses.
May also be required to assist in the development of quality assurance procedures and serve as the QA representative on the safety and institutional review board committees.

Director/Program Manager of Information Technology
Description
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the Director/Program Manager of IT’s role is to plan, coordinate, direct, design and implement all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. This individual will collaborate directly with the executive management team and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Description

Law Enforcement Account Expert
Description:
The purpose of this position is to raise awareness and sell Bode Technology (Bode) products and selected services to law enforcement agencies and investigators. This position will report to the Vice President of Sales and marketing and will have flexible working hours. The candidate will receive a monthly fee and be eligible for commissions based on reaching a minimum threshold of documented product and services sales to customers once payment is received by Bode. The candidate will be trained in features and benefits of Bode products and selected services. He or she will be expected to make a minimum number of telephone and in-person calls to decision makers in law enforcement in their state. Local travel by personal vehicle is expected.

Research Scientist
The Bode Technology Group is seeking applicants for a Research Scientist Position. Minimum educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related science plus two years laboratory experience in a molecular biology / DNA laboratory or a Masters Degree in the life sciences or chemical sciences with one year experience in a molecular biology / DNA laboratory. Working knowledge of molecular biology techniques including PCR is required. The candidate must have US citizenship. Experience with Human DNA Identification protocols and associated software is preferred.

Mitochondrial DNA Analyst II/III
The Bode Technology Group is seeking applicants for a Mitochondrial DNA Analyst II/III position.
Minimum educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a biology, chemistry, or forensic science related area, with a Masters in Forensics (or other relevant field) preferred. Candidates must have successfully completed coursework in Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Statistics.
Applicants must have at least 2-3 years prior mtDNA analysis experience. Preference will be given to analysts with experience with bone samples and other degraded specimens; and knowledge of auditing standards for forensic DNA laboratories. Some experience testifying as expert witness in mtDNA desirable but not necessary.
Duties will include: performing mtDNA analysis in criminal cases, and assisting in various national and international identification missions.

DNA Analyst – Entry Level
The Bode Technology Group is seeking applicants for an entry level DNA Analyst position. Minimum educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a biology, chemistry, or forensic science related area. Candidates must have successfully completed coursework in Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and Statistics. Preference will be given to applicants with prior STR DNA experience and knowledge of auditing standards for forensic DNA laboratories. Duties may include but are not limited to: operating robotics, screening evidence for the presence of body fluids, processing databasing/STR casework samples, updating protocols, and assisting with validation work.

The Bode Technology Group, located in Lorton, VA, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Laboratory Technician. Responsible for routine operations assistance in the laboratory, providing support to analysts, and performing routine clerical and laboratory maintenance duties. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to concentrate and produce results with 100% accuracy, and close attention to detail.
