Bode Technology is proud to announce the Seventh Annual Advanced DNA Technical Workshop being held from May 18 ‑ 22, 2008 at the South Seas Resort on Captiva Island, FL.  This three and a half‑day workshop is designed to provide DNA analysts with information on the latest technologies and openly share experiences from their laboratory.  The Advanced DNA Technical Workshop includes a 2‑day Technical Session comprised of technical presentations and mini‑workshops.  In addition to the Technical Session, attendees are encouraged to register for workshops that will be held on Monday and the half‑day Technical Leader Session on Thursday morning.

  • GeneMapper® ID‑X ‑ Next Generation Forensic Data Analysis Software and Expert System ‑ presented by Applied Biosystems (May 19, 1 ‑ 4pm, includes lunch)


Technical Session (May 20 & 21)

This year's Technical Session will feature a day of technical presentations and a day of mini‑workshops addressing topics such as:
  • Debbie and Rob Smith, founders of H‑E‑A‑R‑T (Hope Exists After Rape Trauma) to speak about their experiences and The Debbie Smith Act
  • Kinship Calculations/Familial Searches, presented by George Carmody, Carleton University
  • Mixture Analysis mini‑workshop, presented by Bruce Budowle, FBI
  • ISO 17025 Accreditation for DNA Laboratories, Forensic Quality Services‑International
  • Solving Cold Cases, Baltimore County Police
  • Legislative Updates, New Applications for Forensic Casework, Interesting Cases, and more


Technical Leader Session (May 22, 8:30 ‑ 11:30am, includes lunch)

This year's Technical Leader Session will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 8:30am ‑ 11:30am.  Topics will be determined by the facilitator and the attendees.  All are welcome to register for this session.
